Chordious 2.8.0 now available

Chordious 2.8.0 is now available, and is almost functionally identical to the previous release.

The primary purpose of this release was to update from the now unsupported .NET 6 to the still supported .NET 8, and updating all of the dependency projects to get their latest bug fixes.

I also took the opportunity to create a native ARM64 build of Chordious, for folks lucky enough to have the latest Copilot+ PCs, which should provide greatly improved performance over using the x64 build.

Here’s the full change list for those upgrading from 2.6.4 to 2.8.0:

  • Updated all projects to .NET 8
  • Added native ARM64 build for Windows
  • Updated CommunityToolkit.Mvvm to v8.4.0
  • Updated DotNetProjects.Extended.Wpf.Toolkit to 5.0.124
  • Updated Microsoft.NET.Test.Sdk to v17.13.0
  • Updated MSTest.TestAdapter to v3.8.3
  • Updated MSTest.TestFramework to v3.8.3
  • Updated coverlet.collector to v6.0.4

So update to the latest version of Chordious today, and keep the feedback coming!

I just discovered and love this program! I am in a guitar jam/play group at my local senior citizen center. I am pretty competent on the computer (Win 11 Pro). Many of our group have a hard time with computers. I have been putting together ‘How To’s’ to help the other seniors get and format their music for the jam sessions. I will be introducing Chordius to them at our Jan 2026 session.

Your program is the best chord diagram program I have ever found! As seniors (I am 78) , many of us have physical problems with our hands due to things like arthritis. Your program will really help to find alternate chord shapes to replace the ones we can no longer finger correctly. Thank You.

I am working with another person to start a Ukulele jam/learn/play group in February 2026. I will be introducing Chordius to this group as well.

I read that previous versions worked on Mac and Linux. I didn’t see updated versions 2.6.4 on the download page for Mac & Linux. Are there versions for those OS’s available?

Thank you for this program. Rick

      Hi Rick,

I’m glad you’re finding Chordious useful!

Unfortunately Chordious is currently Windows-only. I do want to get it working on other OSes eventually but I haven’t done much work on it lately.
